There are billions of Creatures in our oceans,
rivers, lakes and ponds, there are too many
to count! Here are just a few that live
in these watery habitats.
Octopus The Octopus has 8 legs covered in suckers
which it uses to catch food.The Octopus has
no bones or shell. It can squeeze through
a gap no bigger than its eye to escape predators
such as Eels, Dolphins and Sharks.
Moray
Eel Moray eels are long fish with small fins.
Their mouths are filled with sharp teeth,
some have canine-like teeth. They have no
scales and their skin is smooth and slimy
to touch.
Seahorse The Seahorse gets its name from its horse
like head, each eye moves independently, there
are 35 known species of Seahorses and they
come in many colours and sizes.
Grey
Seal The Seal is a marine mammal, they live
in the North Atlantic Ocean. Half of the world's
population of Grey Seals is found on and around
British coasts where numbers have doubled
since 1960.
Hawksbill
Turtle The Hawksbill Turtle is an omnivorous
reptile that likes to eat both plants and
other Sea Creatures, however its favourite
food are grasses found either floating in
the water or on the sea bed.
Royal
Angelfish The Royal Angelfish is a very colourful
little fish and grows to a length of 30 centimetres.
