Success for the Charity Firewalk!

We would like to thank all of our visitors who donated money towards the Children’s Hospice South West for the recent Charity Firewalk.

The event held on Thursday 20^th October raised over £10,000 for the charity, and involved over 30 participants walking 5 metres over hot coals, with temperatures recorded at 595°C!

Shark Week at SeaQuarium Weston

Thank you to everyone who participated in Shark Week 2011, in association with Shark Trust.

SeaQuarium collected 650 petitions to help urge fisheries ministers to protect sharks from finning and overexploitation.

Over 100 people participated in our ‘Fin Trail’ quiz and colouring competition throughout the week and the prizes have been sent to the lucky winners.

Halloween Half Term at SeaQuarium Weston (22nd-31st October 2011)

This October Half Term, the SeaQuarium in Weston will be having ghoulish & ghostly games in the run up to Halloween, featuring some of the amazing creatures on display, from the weird & wonderful to the totally amazing, and not just the scary ones!

With Halloween knocking on our door, you can get up close with some of our Spooky Species! Have you ever seen our Lethal Looking Lionfish, Creepy Crabs, what about a Turtle with a Snakes Neck? We have, and so can you when you visit the Weston SeaQuarium!

In conjunction with the Children’s Hospice South West, the Weston SeaQuarium is involved in an extraordinary evening of “FIREWALKING” on Weston beach!

You might think that our Tropical Reef Zone is hot, with the water temperature a cosy 79°F, featuring Seahorses & Lionfish, but how about Hot Coals at 1200°F!

On the 20^th October 2011, there will be a sponsored walk over very hot coals! This could be the Hottest & Shortest sponsored walk in the world!

Attractions Manager, Christopher Donkin has already signed himself up to do the Firewalk.

The Weston super Mare SeaQuarium has been judged to be one of the best aquariums in Britain! The website MSN has compiled a list of “Ten of the Best British Aquariums”, and SeaQuarium Weston is one of them!

Named as one of the top ten British aquariums is a fantastic result, and standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the countries biggest aquariums – the likes of the National Marine Aquarium & London Aquarium, proves that size doesn’t matter!
